You haven’t been able to get hand sanitizers for a long time so why not make your own?  Below is a recipe for you to make your own sanitizer using essential oils.  Many essential oils have anti-microbial properties (anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal).  It is simple and easy to make your own hand sanitizers and with hand sanitizers being sold out everywhere, you don’t have to go without.  Simply visit your local health food store to get the ingredients if you don’t have them at home.

Basic recipe

¼ cup aloe vera gel

20 drops lavender

10 drops tea tree oil

1 tsp vitamin E oil (for moisturizer)

2 tablespoons of witch hazel

You can substitute or add the following essential oils as they have shown to have anti-viral properties:

  • Cinnamon
  • Bergamot
  • Eucalyptus
  • Red thyme
  • Clove
  • Rosemary
  • Peppermint

Note:  You can substitute the witch hazel for 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol (or ethanol) if you want an alcohol-based sanitizer.

Stay healthy and safe!
